Our Leaders

Within our home church structure we have developed an amazing method of raising up leaders from within our participating groups. Through the training that is offered in The Bold New Plan each participant will discover what their own spiritual gifts are and then they will be encouraged take the first steps toward functioning in the call of God on their lives. Unlike many church settings where congregants are only expected to attend and sit comfortably on a pew for the rest of their lives, our members find joy and fulfilment in the process of being trained to equip the body to a place of action.

Once a participant has attended a house church and completed the basic lessons they are offered an opportunity to attend another 14 week series for leadership that prepares them to be able to lead a house church. Most of our members are very excited about doing so and want to move closer to whatever the call of God is on their lives. The house church gives us a platform for them to learn how to facilitate a group of people, it teaches them basic leadership skills, and soon they are nurturing others in a productive way. As they do so they naturally begin to flow in their own gifts as well.

We do not expect that each of our people at the leadership level is a perfect, mature, and totally well behaved individual. So far we have not been successful at turning out drones, and thank God for that! Each leader is an individual. Each will lead in their own unique way. But there is security for them in the fact that the lessons are all prepared for them, they are overseen by area pastors and other five fold ministers who can assist them with any hard situations. We have a structure that allows mentoring to be had at every level, with strong consistent relationships being developed over time that will last a lifetime, no matter where God calls people as they grow in their gifts and abilities.

We began the process of training leaders only a few short years ago. As a result most of our leaders are from the Calgary area. However we have since developed a method of training people to start house churches using CDs and the internet.
